Mark was born on 16th January 1969 in Welwyn, Hertfordhire to a Malaysian mother and British father. He and his brother Alex grew up in St Albans. After leaving school he joined TV company Telegenic in 1988 before moving to Hong Kong in 1993, where he now lives with his wife Angela and son Jules.

Training & Talks

Mark guest-tutors in location sound recording at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. Focussing on final 3rd year students, his workshops include basic training in all areas of sound recording, including basic sound theory, microphone techniques, boom operating, video/digital audio tape recording. He also conducted a wildlife sound recording workshop in Singapore, as part of the 2007 WildlifeAsia Film Festival and regularly gives talks at Hong Kong local schools.
